| Attitude of Christ | | Posted by Marty on Friday, August 13, 2010 at 6:29am | " Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus" Philippians 2:5
I don't know about you but sometimes my attitude can stink to high heaven. Most of the time I am a go with the flow type of person. My feathers are not easily ruffled, but from time to time, I can cop an attitude.
When I catch myself starting to get a sinky attitude, I try to ask myself - Marty, why are you so upset? Where is this coming from? Nine times out of ten, it is coming from looking at the circumstance through my own human eyes and not through the eyes of the Father.
I am learning that if I pause and take a step back to breathe and say a short prayer to Christ, He helps me see the situation through His eyes and not my own. My heart is turned toward the Father and I rely upon Him to take control of my attitude so that I can watch Him work not only my heart but others.
A reflection of Christ's attitude helps others smell the sweet fragrance of heaven verses the stinky smell that comes from our carnal nature here on earth.
Heavenly Father, help me to see others through your eyes today. May my heart and attitude be a reflection of you so that others will smell the sweet fragrance of heaven that can only come from you. In Jesus Name, Amen!
Lovingly,
Marty

| | | | | Generous Giver | | Posted by Marty on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at 5:39am | Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. 1 Timothy 6:18
Giving of ourselves requires time, resources and sometimes money. One of the best examples of a generous giver is Jesus Christ himself. The other day as I was looking up a particular verse, I ended up going to an on line Christian commentary to help me locate it. As I was scrolling down to find the verse I needed, I kept seeing the words Jesus went in all of the verses that I was viewing. Jesus generously gave of himself to others with a loving heart by physically going out among the people.
Healing the sick, feeding the multitudes, speaking and sharing about the love of the Father, raising the dead were all done by Jesus physically going out among the people. Jesus was always on the move traveling, teaching and sharing with others about God the Father. His ministry here on earth was to physically help meet the needs of others while drawing their eyes up to the Father.
Sitting in a pew at church hearing a message, sitting in front of the computer or TV, or sitting in a rocking chair on the back porch all have their time and place but we must not stay there day in and day out. Otherwise how will those who are sick, dying, hurting, and lost hear about Christ?
Actively walking each day with a purpose, as Christ himself did means we are to get up knowing that God will place within our path someone we are to generously share Christ with. It is through those God appointments that good deeds are done while drawing men and women to our Lord and Savior.
Jesus is still in the business of being a generous giver in spite of being rejected, scorned, and ridiculed and name taken in vain even today. It is through us the body of Christ that others see that He is alive, actively present, by us sharing generously with those who are hurting, sick, or lost. Will you take the time and go, as Jesus did, and help someone lift their eyes up to the Father by generously helping them discover Jesus is the answer that they need?
Heavenly Father, today as I go out among the lost, sick and hurting, help me to actively listen to your voice and generously give of myself to others so that their eyes will see you in me. In Jesus Name, Amen!
Serving Him,

God has paven the way for His message to go out victoriously. As I contact radio stations and bookstores about the book and it's message, I am greeted with positive responses wherever I turn. Why? Because God has already prepared the way.
I marvel at what God has done and continues to do with the food pantry ministry that He so graciously allows me to be a part of. Money continues to flow, volunteers and food donations that are needed are faithfully provided each month. Why? Because God has already prepared the way for this to happen.
Victoriously prayers are being answered for the food recipients that I pray with. Why? Because God is listening when we agree in prayer and lift our eyes up to Him.
Oh there is sweet victory in Jesus wherever we go when we take the time to walk with Him.
Victoriously His,
Marty | | | | | Happy Mother's Day Ms. Robin | | Posted by Marty on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 7:10pm | Happy Mother's Day Ms. Robin | Just outside my front porch, there is a robin and her nest with two precious baby birds. Ms. Robin has been extremely attentive to being a devoted mom to her two small babies. She is constantly on watch and always gathering food.
Ms. Robin takes her position of being a mom very seriously. God has given her the ability to instinctively build her nest, wait patiently for her eggs to hatch, then go out and gather the food that is needed once they are born. All done and provided for by the Father's creative hand.
God gave Ms. Robin this wonderful ability to go and gather what she needs from the Father's world. The twigs, moss and grass have to be gathered for her nest. The food that her baby birds need has to be found but when all is said and done, God provided it all for her. She is just being obedient to what God called her to do, which is to provide for her family.
Father, thank you for your provision and Ms. Robin's example to me. May I recognize the abilities that you have placed in me so that I will obediently use them for your glory. I appreciate the fact that you have already provided everything I need to accomplish your will for my life. In Jesus Name, Amen!
| | | | | Choir of Daffodils | | Posted by Marty on Friday, April 30, 2010 at 7:22am | Choir of Daffodils | Spring is such an incredible time of the year. Flowers blooming, birds singing, trees budding, all at the same time. The air is filled with an anticipation of what God will bring forth next as each new day arises.
Recently I took pictures of my neighbors daffodils. These trumpet looking flowers stood in a row just like a choir. They stood up straight as if they were tooting their horns singing, "Hallelujah". Their time to shine and bloom had arrived. They looked joyful and happy as the sun shined upon them. Their horns of yellow petals were praising God for the simple provision of the new spring day.
How about you? Are you standing in the choir of praise, tooting your horn
for what God has provided for you today? Stand up like the daffodil and sing "Hallelujah" and allow the son of God to shine through you on this spring day. Together let's sing His praises eagerly anticipating God to spring forth something new and fresh each day.
Singing His Praises,
